Give Children a Choice (GCAC) Supports the Construction of the New Wall of Khon Kaen School for the Blind

Mr. Dori Shimoda, founder of Give Children A Choice and his wife Ms. Barbara Shimoda (Country Director – Laos, Healthcare Projects Director) handed over the donation for the wall construction of Khon Kaen School for the Blind to Professor Wiriya Namsiripongpun (CFBT President). The event took place on Christmas Eve at Raja City Village in Khon Kaen. Some CFBT administrators and staff were also present during the event.
Last July 2017, a certain part of the 39-year old wall surrounding Khon Kaen School for the Blind collapsed due to the heavy and continuous rain. This resulted in a sudden rush of a great volume of water into the school compound causing a huge amount of damage in the property.
GCAC was the first organization that responded to help the school during the flood. They initiated the online fundraising and were able to convince a generous donor, Mr. Rob Carpenter to donate for the construction of the new wall. Ms. Debbie Davis, GCAC Executive Director facilitated the preparation of the MOU between GCAC and CFBT for the wall construction and managed the transfer of funds. 
CFBT also welcomed Mr. Dori and Ms. Barbara Shimoda as the new advisers for CFBT Disabled Service Center (DSC) and Community-based Rehabilitation sub-board committee. Their experience and expertise in community development in Laos and Cambodia will truly be valuable for CFBT.
